Vadakkunnathan Temple is located in the Thrissur district of Kerala State. It is considered one of the oldest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Moreover, the temple is built in an ancient Indian architectural style of Kerala. Apart from that, inside the temple, there are a lot of amazing historical paintings. Also, this is the first temple built by Parashurama, the sixth avatar of Vishnu. It looks even more beautiful because of its surroundings and peaceful environment.
The temple is very ancient and has a lot of traditional values of Hinduism. It represents the Hindu culture and especially the South Indian people’s history of temples. This Temple hosts the annual festival ‘Thrissur Pooram’, a famous event that is celebrated from April – May.
