Mumbadevi Temple is a beautiful temple dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Mumba Devi or Amba Devi. It is one of the oldest temples located in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra State. Interestingly, the city name Mumbai also came from the word Mumba Devi. So, this temple has a history and importance for the Hindu people of Mumbai city. Originally, the temple was built in the 6th century but later it was destroyed by the invaders. But again it was rebuilt in the same place and the shrine contains an image of the Goddess Mumbadevi dressed in a robe with a silver crown, a nose stud, and a golden necklace.
The Mumbadevi Temple is also a very beautiful temple with some old Indian architectural styles. Many people who visit Mumbai also like to go for darshan at this temple. Especially, during the Navratri season the temple receives so many devotees from across the country. People come here to Mumbadevi Pooja/ Aarti Offerings and worship Devi Ma.
