Chottanikkara Temple is dedicated to goddess Shakthi Devi who are also known as Rajarajeswari and Sree Bhagavathi. This is one of the most visited temples in Kerala by devotees. Approximately, thousands of devotees visit daily to worship goddess Shakthi Devi and Darshan. In the temple, Devi is worshipped in three holy forms that are Saraswati in the morning, Lakshmi at noon, and Durga in the evening.

It is believed by devotees that if you are struggling with mental illness or any sort of disorder, can be healed after visiting this temple. There is a positive surrounding and the power of Goddess Durga will heal you. This is also counted in the famous temple of Kerela. Festivals are celebrated in this temple but the most important festivals are MAKOM Thozhal. On this festival, you can see most of the crowd around the temple for Darshan and Puja. There are some other festivals such as Vrishchicka Mandala Mahotsavam Festival & Kumbam Festival. Timings may change during festivals.
