Bhimashankar Temple is one of the important Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. Only 12 Jyotirlingas are present in the world and Bhimashankar is one of them. This temple is situated in Maharastra state at Sahyadri hills. It is 125 km away from Pune. You have to reach Bhorgiri village for darshan at this temple. In recent times, this Jyotirlinga has become popular rapidly and devotees are coming in large numbers.
Bhimashankar Temple Darshan Timings
The reason for getting popular in a recent time is being declared as “WILDLIFE SANCTUARY”. This beautiful sanctuary is located in the Western Ghats. A variety of animals, birds, insects, flowers, and plants become a big attraction to the temple. You can also trekking here. The name of the temple is based on the Bhima River. This river was evaporated during the war between Lord Shiva and Demon Tripurasura. The “Bhimashankar Temple” structure was designed in Nagara’s old and new styles that give it a perfect shape.
In addition, you can take darshan in the temple and blessings too. The diety is present in the temple of Shiva Fanams, Shakini, and Daakini who help lord Shiva in the fight against Demon Tripurasur. You can also visit nearby temples of Bhimashankar such as Kamalaja Mata. This is the form of Mata Parvati who helped Lord Shiva in treatment.
