Ashtalakshmi Temple is located near Elliot Beach in Chennai and this is a Hindu temple. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi and her eighth form Ashtalakshmi. Ashtalakshmi form is a symbol of wealth, namely, offspring, success, prosperity, wealth, courage, bravery, food, and knowledge. Ashtalakshmi Temple Chennai Darshan Timings
Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati Swamigal of Kanchi Mutt had wished to construct the Ashtalakshmi temple properly. This wish was completed by Srinivasa Varadhachariar and the foundation was made in 1947 to complete the Ashtalakshmi temple. The temple had been completed by 5 April 1976 in the presence of the 44th guru of the Ahobila Mutt Vedhantha Dhesika Yatheendhra Mahadhesikan Swami. This is a big temple with a length of 65 ft and a breadth of 45 ft.
