The Pandharpur Vitthal Temple or Vithoba Temple, officially known as the Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Mandir (श्री विठ्ठल्-रूक्मिणि देऊळ) is one of the most well-known temples in Pandharpur, a popular pilgrim town. Vitthal Rukmini Temple of Pandharpur is an attraction for the pilgrim. The temple is dedicated to the Lord Vithoba also Vitthala. This temple is the main center of worship for Vithoba, a form of the god Vishnu or Krishna, and his consort Rakhumai.
This temple is Classified as one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethrams of the Vaishnavate tradition. The temple was built by King Vishnuvardhana of the Hoysala Empire between 1108 and 1152 CE upon being convinced by the historical figure Pundalik. It is the most visited temple in Maharashtra.
