Chamundeshwari Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Chamudi or Durga. She is considered one of the most important goddesses in Hinduism and many people all over India worship the Goddess. Moreover, this temple is situated on the top of Chamundi Hills about 13 km from the palace city of Mysuru in the state of Karnataka. It is believed that Goddess Durga slayed the demon king Mahishasura on the top of this hill which was ruled by him. Also, Chamundeshwari is called by the people of Karnataka as Nada Devi, which means state Goddess. Apart from that, the temple is very old and the structure has been built with historical Indian architecture.
The most important festival that is celebrated here is Navaratri. Mysuru Dasara is celebrated as the state festival of Karnataka, called Nada Habba in Kannada. Every year, many devotees visit the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysore to explore and pray to goddess Durga. People can visit the temple between 7:30 AM Morning till 9:00 PM.
